Information Collection and Use

Information Collection
InvestBio, Inc. (IB) is a subsidiary of Diversified Private Equity Corporation. Collectively they are referred to as "IB Group".

IB is the sole owner of the information collected on www.InvestBio.com. IB collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

Membership
IB has a non-subscription area on the site (free service) which does not require registration of any kind. Any user is free to access this area of the website without submitting any personal contact information.

IB also has a subscription area on the site. In order to use this part of the website, a user must first complete the users registration form. During registration, a user is required to give contact information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number and unique identifiers (username and password), and may be requested to provide financial information such as credit card type, number and expiration date. We request information from the user on our secure membership form. If financial information is required then this will be displayed.

We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for which he or she has expressed interest. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information such as occupation, industry and income level, but it is encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience. Such information is used for billing purposes, to fill customer's orders, and to contact the user if necessary.

Information Use

Profile
We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users' that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the user's personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. At the user's request, we will not share your profile with third parties.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We use only session ID cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates.

Cookie data is used to record aggregated information on what pages users access or visit. IB uses this data to streamline the website so users can find the information they are looking for more easily.

By setting a cookie on our site, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback is that the user will have to reenter his or her login information every visit. See the "Profile" section.

Third Party Advertising
This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by IB only and there is no use of cookies by any third party companies.

Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use log files. This includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. This information enables us to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movements in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. We use a tracking utility called WebTrends that uses log files to analyze user movement.

Communications from the Site

Updates
We send new subscribers a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established subscribers will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and newsletters. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we present the option to decline to receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.

Email
We collect the e-mail addresses of users who communicate with us via email or request information via our website. IB collects online data from current and prospective subscribers in order to provide them with information they have requested whether from IB or from one of IB's marketing partners.

In certain instances, we employ partner companies who may help us gain access to prospective members by collecting email addresses among other contact information. These email addresses come from people who specifically request information on IB and various other sources.

Membership Newsletter
We ask for contact information, as above described, if a user wishes to join and begin to receive our newsletter services. Out of respect for our users' privacy, we provide a way to opt-out of these communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.

Service Announcements
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a service-related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send users an email. Generally, a member may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their personal account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account. We reply via email or phone, in accordance with the user's wishes.

Sharing

Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to ensure user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, or to the extent necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or often legal process.

Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We share aggregated demographic information in our InvestBio Group companies. This is not linked to any personally identifiable information. At this point of time, IB does not share information with advertisers, but may do so in the future.

These are the instances in which we will share users' personal information:
We share personal information only within our IB Group. We do not share personal Information with third parties, though if we do so in the future we shall comply with the current industry rules and guidelines.

Third Party Intermediaries
We use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Service Providers
We partner with several third parties to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these particular services, we share names or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Business Transactions and Change of Control
In the event IB goes through a business transaction, such as a merger, or acquisition by another company, or sells a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via email prior to a change of ownership or control that will affect their personal information. If as a result of the business transaction, the users' personally identifiable information be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, they will be given choices consistent with our notification of changes section.

Choice/Opt-out

Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our order form has an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but do not want any contact, can keep their email address off of our lists.

Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying and indicating "unsubscribe" in the subject line in the email or via email to info@investbio.com or by phone. We also offer an opt-out mechanism on the subscribers' account information pages. The user may also contact us directly to opt-out.

Users of our site will always be notified if their information is being collected by any outside parties. We will do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that IB is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by IB.

IB has co-branded relations in place with the several websites. As a reader, when you are viewing content from any of the third party providers, you have left IB's website.

Surveys

From time to time, our site requests information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary so the user has a choice whether or not to disclose the requested information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and mailing address), and demographic information (such as income and industry). This survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use of this site. Though we may use an intermediary to conduct these surveys or contests, they may not use users' personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Security

This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and off-line.

When our subscription form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our member form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just 'surfing'.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Furthermore, our employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices and are required to honor our privacy policies and procedures. At the time of hire, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure locked facility.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users' personally identifiable information. This can usually be done at the subscribers account information page or by emailing our Customer Support at info@investbio.com. Alternatively, a user may contact us by telephone or mail at the contact information listed below.

Notification of Changes

If we change our privacy policy, we will post changes to this privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we may use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our website notifying users of the change.
