Biographies: Experienced Management that Believes in Biotechnology InvestingScott L. Mathis - Chairman and CEO InvestBio, Inc.'s Founder and driving force, Mr. Mathis continues to implement his vision of creating unprecedented ground-floor investment opportunities for high net-worth investors. With more than 20 years in the financial industry, he has extensive experience in both investment and management. He is also founder and Chairman of Diversified Private Equity Corporation. Mathis serves as a member of the Board of Directors of AmpliMed Corporation which is currently in clinical trials for a promissing drug for pancreatic cancer and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of The Vaccine Company. Mr. Mathis received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Mississippi State University. Mr. Mathis was previously a partner at Oppenheimer and Company, a Senior Vice President and member of the Directors Council at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Mathis also worked with Alex Brown and Sons and The Boston Group. No stranger to building a business from the ground up, Mr. Mathis was responsible for the management of the Palm Beach, Florida office of Gruntal and Company, Inc. He began his career as a financial consultant and broker with Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. Julian Beale - Board of Directors Mr. Beale adds more than thirty years of business and management expertise to the DPEC Partners Board of Directors. He began his career with Esso Australia (now Exxon), working in both New York and Sydney as an operations engineer. During this time, Mr. Beale was part of a consortium that purchased what became the Moonie Oil Company, where he served as managing director from 1978 to 1984. In 1984, Julian Beale entered the Australian Federal Parliament where he served for 11 years. Mr. Beale holds a B.E. degree from Sydney University, Australia and an MBA from Harvard University. Peter Lawrence - Board of Directors Mr. Lawrence currently serves as the chairman for Polastar, PLC, a company established to develop the commercial potential for a revolutionary intelligent lighting system. Mr. Lawrence served as chairman of Associate British Industries, PLC (“Associated”), which in 1997 became a part of Allied Signal. Mr. Lawrence has also served as a director of Beacon Investment Trust, PLC, now closed Beacon Investment Fund, since it was founded in 1994. Mr. Lawrence holds a BA in History from Oxford University where he graduated with honors. Ronald S. Robbins - Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President Prior to joining InvestBio, in 2001, Mr. Robbins established a strong record of leadership in the finance industry. Most recently, he served as Managing Director, Josephthal & Co, Inc. His 39 years in the financial services industry includes consulting relationships with various major firms; Chairman and CEO, Liberty Securities Corporation; President, Liberty Financial Bank Group; President, SunAmerica Capital Services; Executive Vice President, SunAmerica Asset Management; and Senior Vice President, Monarch Financial Services. Mr. Robbins also holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Diversified Private Equity Corporation, the parent company of InvestBio, Inc. He is a graduate of Temple University. Jin Yang, Ph.D. - Scientific Advisor Until recently, Jin Yang served as a Consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, where he gained broad exposure across healthcare sectors in biotech, pharma, managed care and government policies. He facilitated mergers of clinical operations for biotech and pharma firms. He also conducted in-depth analysis of drug development process and reduced development timeline. Prior to this he was an associate at McKinsey & Company where he spent time investigating competitive dynamics in the medical device market. He was previously a medical researcher at Yale University Medical School where he completed his Ph.D. and Post-doctoral work. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Beijing University; Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology and Biophysics from Yale University; and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Dana Ault-Riché, Ph.D. - Scientific Advisor Dana Ault-Riché, Ph.D. is the Founder of Pointilliste and is the company's President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Ault-Riché Co-founded Zyomyx, Inc., serving as the companys’ first CEO and President. Zyomyx, Inc. is developing protein biochips for use in drug development. While at Zyomyx, Dr. Ault-Riché also assembled an integrated molecular biology and high throughput screening team which utilized phage display methods to identify recombinant antibodies. Dr. Ault-Riché also Co-founded Diazyme Laboratories, Inc., serving as the company's CEO and Chairman and later negotiated the sale of the company to General Atomics, San Diego, CA. Diazyme has developed a test for homocysteine, a newly recognized major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Dr. Ault-Riché received his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Ronald Borchardt at the University of Kansas, where his work focused on the discovery of new antiviral inhibitors. He joined Prof. Arthur Kornberg’s laboratory at Stanford University for postdoctoral research where he developed a high-throughput discovery system to study the role of polyphosphates in regulating signal transduction pathways.
